Problem
A company that uses SolidWorks 3D CAD software for their design and engineering tasks was having IT problems. They finally asked their IT management company, Aptica LLC, for help,” recalls the DASI Solutions Indiana representative, Michael Dietzen. “After Aptica owner Jason Newburg gave his assessment of the issues, the company’s manager (Aptica’s client) offered to spend big money to buy all new hardware. But Jason didn’t think that throwing money at it was the best fix for the problems. Instead, he thought the SolidWorks experts should be consulted first about how to better utilize the software already owned. Jason reached out to me at DASI Solutions, the vendor who supplied SolidWorks, and he set up a meeting for me with the company manager. We discussed options for solving their problems without having to make major expenditures to replace equipment.
Solution
There have been no decisions made at this time,” said Dietzen, “but I want to say how refreshing it is to have an IT management company actively seek the most efficient solution, and not just take the money to replace equipment. Aptica seems committed to taking the best possible care of their clients’ IT networks. Kudos to Jason Newburg for seeing that the software could be optimized to be more productive, and for proposing this as a more cost-effective fix to an annoying problem.
Result
One result certainly is that this company has been presented with choices and explanations for a complex IT situation. For me, I’m glad to know about Aptica, and I believe they are at the forefront of the IT industry.”
