Don’t Settle When It’s Your Business Technology

Security: How Can You Know If You Have It?

“Don’t settle” is a hot topic for me. Often when I take on a new client, I can be surprised at what I see this business has been using for their IT. It can be obsolete hardware, outdated software, strange network configurations, poor security and data preservation techniques, and antiquated workflows. I see businesses working for their technology instead of the technology working for their business. At the same time—I also understand.

Keeping up with IT enhancements has professional IT management companies on a dead run every day. How can a business owner keep up? This owner is also usually managing employees, watching the budget, dealing with product quality control, stepping in for customer service, and brainstorming about how to move ahead, at least. When can there be time to search for and learn about the latest and greatest in cybersecurity? Or productivity software? Or advancements in connectivity? The daily list of technology updates is quite long, and it changes daily.

People “Settle” For Many Reasons

But I urge you — don’t settle. Don’t settle for the least expensive option and live with the constant worry that it won’t be enough. Don’t settle for a technology solution that fails to contribute to your business success. Don’t settle for continuous extra workarounds due to dysfunctional technology, for frustrating down time, or mysterious equipment failure.
