Four Months Can Produce A Lot With Good Technology

We are past the midpoint of this challenging and disruptive year, and before you know it we will be dealing with Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. It is difficult to think about the upcoming family holidays and how this pandemic will play havoc with cherished traditions.  So, I focus on what I can control, and to be honest, it comforts me to know that the next four months can still produce phenomenal results.   A well thought out and implemented technology plan is a good start to achieving this success.

We Find Ways To Keep Moving Forward

Despite shutdowns, small business owners have found ways to continue towards their own goals and to meet the needs of their customers. I’ve heard a good story about a boss who began her business day by telling her employees “we will evaluate at noon today what little victories we have won.” Morale at her enterprise is high but it hasn’t been easy. The ability to motivate others is a big part of the success of small companies as they struggle to keep momentum.

Look Again At Your Checklist

  • Solid business plan
  • Feasible Plan B
  • Talented employees
  • Better-than-just-adequate technology and security
  • Dependable supply chain
  • Workable distribution mechanisms
  • Confidence in your own determination to meet goals

When I see items listed like they are above, it could be business as usual at any time. And maybe it’s this tunnel vision that will keep our eyes on the prizes and get us through these harsh conditions?

Again—Good Technology Is Just As Necessary As Electricity In Today’s World

How do you know if your technology is the strongest asset you can have right now? Start asking questions, and ask your employees first. Those who are most hands-on, whose productivity depends on good tech, will be quick to give you a wish list. Then find reputable professionals who can assess what you have and suggest what you might need. Aptica offers free assessments, by the way.

In January of 2020, I’m sure we all had very aggressive plans for the first four months of the year. No one expected to be pulled up abruptly in the middle of March for a crisis that could not be remedied quickly—but here we are. Let these closing days of August be your run-up to a spirited New Year-type push to finish strong.

Advancement begins with drive and curiosity. If you have questions about your business technology and about what might help you right now, give us a call at Aptica and ask. We could talk about computers for hours, but we most enjoy putting them to work for you.
